This past weekend was a whirlwind of balloons, cake crumbs, and laughter echoing through the house as we celebrated a milestone that still feels impossible to grasp: Mia is two. Two years since she made her way into our world, filling it with a kind of light I didn’t know existed until I saw it shining through her.

From the very first moment, she’s been more than just our daughter—she’s been our teacher, our joy, and our daily reminder of what love looks like in its purest form. Her tiny hands slip into mine with a tenderness that still makes my heart ache in the best way. Her little voice, high and sweet, carries across the room with words that tumble out like music—especially when she says, “I love you,” which never fails to stop me in my tracks.

What amazes me most about this age is the contrast: she is both so small and yet so expansive. At two, she has already managed to fill every corner of our lives. The sound of her giggles, the rhythm of her feet pattering across the floor, the way she discovers something new with wide-eyed delight—each moment feels like a treasure I tuck away to keep forever.

Mia’s compassion shines in the simplest, most breathtaking ways. She offers hugs without hesitation, shares her toys without being asked, and showers us with kisses as if love is the most abundant currency in the world. Her bond with Lucy has been one of the sweetest surprises—watching the two of them together is like catching a glimpse of sisterhood in its earliest, purest form. Their laughter, their games, their quiet moments of connection—they’ve built a world only they fully understand, and I feel honored just to witness it.

Two is a funny age—it’s equal parts wonder and wildness. There are tantrums and tears, yes, but there is also boundless curiosity, humor, and joy. Mia navigates this world with a fearless spirit, ready to explore, ready to laugh, ready to love with her whole heart. She reminds me daily that life doesn’t have to be complicated to be beautiful. Sometimes all it takes is a belly laugh, a hug, or the delight of seeing the world through a child’s eyes.

As we marked her birthday with candles, songs, and celebrations, I couldn’t help but reflect on how much she has changed us. She’s made me softer, more patient, more present. She’s taught me that love isn’t something you measure—it’s something you give freely, the way she does. And she’s shown me that time is both fleeting and full. Two years have passed in what feels like a blink, yet each day has been so rich, so layered with meaning, that it feels like a lifetime’s worth of love has been packed into them.

So here’s to Mia—our bright star, our wild spirit, our endlessly loving little girl. You are cherished beyond words, adored beyond measure, and loved in ways that stretch far beyond what I ever thought my heart could hold.

Happy second birthday, sweet girl. May you always know how deeply you are loved, how much joy you bring, and how treasured every single moment with you will always be.
