This past weekend felt like something out of a dream. I had the joy of joining two of my favorite sisters and designers, Nicky and Simone Zimmermann, in Miami to celebrate the opening of their brand’s new store in the city’s buzzing Design District. Few brands capture effortless femininity and modern romance the way Zimmermann does, so being there to toast this milestone alongside them was such a privilege.
The celebrations began with dinner at Mandolin Aegean Bistro, a Miami staple and easily one of the best Greek restaurants outside of the Mediterranean. The evening unfolded like the kind of long, lingering dinner you never want to end: clinking glasses of crisp white wine, plates of mezze that felt too pretty to touch, and the easy warmth of conversation shared with old friends. The cocktail reception that followed turned into a reunion of familiar faces I hadn’t seen in far too long—smiles, hugs, and that unmistakable feeling of picking up right where you left off.
From there, we drifted into the patio space where banquet-style tables stretched under a canopy of stars. Each table overflowed with florals in shades of blush, coral, and cream—like a midsummer garden party tucked into the heart of Miami. It was one of those rare nights where everything aligned: the food, the company, the laughter, and yes, the wine flowing just a little too generously.
A Weekend Away
If you were following along on Instagram, you already know we decided to stretch the event into a weekend getaway. It was, in fact, our first proper plane trip without Lucy. She, of course, had the time of her life being doted on by Grandma and Papa while we rediscovered what it feels like to slip away for a couple of nights. There was something freeing about packing light, dressing up without rushing, and lingering over late dinners—all the little luxuries parents will understand all too well.
And, as you can probably guess, the weekend provided the perfect excuse to pull out my favorite Zimmermann pieces. Each look felt like it belonged in Miami: breezy dresses in sun-soaked colors, swimwear ready for the poolside, and playful accessories that had been waiting patiently in my closet for warmer days. From oversized sunnies to statement earrings and woven bags, every piece added a little spark of joy to the getaway.
What I Wore
One of my favorite parts of a trip like this is curating outfits that not only fit the occasion but also reflect the spirit of the place. Miami, with its vibrancy and energy, practically begs for bold prints, breezy silhouettes, and accessories that make you smile. My weekend wardrobe was a mix of Zimmermann staples and seasonal accents—pieces that move easily from day to night and capture that sense of laid-back elegance the brand is known for.
Whether we were stepping out for the opening celebration, wandering through the Design District, or enjoying the sunshine by the pool, I leaned into versatile looks that made me feel instantly polished while staying comfortable in the Miami heat.
Looking Ahead
Trips like this remind me how much joy there is in getting away, even just for a weekend. They break up the rhythm of everyday life, reset your perspective, and remind you of the little pleasures—like dressing up just because, or savoring dinner under the stars.
And while Miami was the perfect start to spring travel, it’s only the beginning. Next month, we’re off to the Bahamas, and I’ve already started pulling together looks for that trip. Not everything in my “Spring Selects” edit made it into my Miami suitcase, but you can bet those pieces will be making their debut by turquoise waters soon enough.
Until Next Time
As I unpacked from Miami and slipped back into everyday life, I couldn’t help but feel grateful—for the chance to celebrate friends’ successes, for time away with my husband, and for a wardrobe that lets me express joy through color and texture. Wherever your travels take you this season, I hope you find that same mix of celebration, connection, and a touch of style magic along the way.
Safe travels, and here’s to spring adventures ahead.
